Press Release
Thanks to an exciting partnership between Aston Martin, PalmerSport and The Sunday Times, driving a race-prepared Aston Martin on-track and against the clock is no longer a thrill enjoyed exclusively by racing drivers.
In a unique competition run from April until October, The Sunday Times will be offering two lucky readers per month the chance to demonstrate their driving skills in an Aston Martin Vantage N24, at PalmerSport’s Bedford Autodrome. Those who prefer not to leave such an opportunity in the hands of Lady Luck might prefer to take advantage of the option to pay for a timed session in one of the cars.
Either way, each driver’s lap time will be entered into a ‘Hot Lap League’, with the ten fastest drivers being called back at the end of the year to compete in a final to decide who’s the fastest. The winner will enjoy an amazing package of prizes, including the loan of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage for a month and full VIP hospitality for two people at the 2009 Le Mans 24-hour race.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive PalmerSport, said “I am delighted that we’ve agreed this exciting partnership with The Sunday Times and Aston Martin. I’ve already driven the Vantage N24 around our Bedford Autodrome circuit, and it’s a hugely impressive machine in every respect. It also looks fantastic! For all those who experience the N24, it will be a special day, and a first-hand taste of what a fully race-prepared GT car is like to drive on a racetrack.”
David King, Head of Product Communications and Motorsport, Aston Martin, said “The recent addition of the Vantage N24 to the Aston Martin Racing range has brought many new racing customers to the brand. The Hot Lap League will further extend the opportunity for customers and enthusiasts to experience the car at first hand, with a great prize for one lucky winner.”
