Space Efficient Vehicle (SEV) Concept
The Space Efficient Vehicle (SEV) concept was put on display at the Detroit Motor Show after it previously become a finalist in the 2008 Michelin Challenge Design. A team from the Netherlands, who create this Space Efficient Vehicle concept are : Ralph Panhuyzen - The project leader and vehicles inventor Steven van der Veen - visual designer who translated the design into detailed renderings. The main idea behind this SEV concept is to make efficient on the space inside the vehicle. As you can see in the SEV concept picture, the SEV concept may give some room for 3 people in total, but I think it has little wasted space between. There are many advantages on this lightweight and sleek Space Efficient Vehicle concept. This SEV will have better fuel economy, cheaper production on its new design options, increased maneuverability, lower emissions, and als...

The weight target of the Splinter wood supercar is 2500lbs. The Splinter wood supercars engine is also equipped with Twin Roots-type superchargers, 4 air-to-water intercoolers and is expected to develop 600 hp. The Splinter wood supercar is going to be powered by a Northstar V8 engine with aluminum block and heads, 32V DOHC reverse-flow cylinder heads and 4.6 liter displacement. One sentence in the statement on the project website that caught my attention: They aren’t trying to sell anything; they aren’t trying to save the world, and they aren’t advocating that everyone should drive a wooden car. Very nice statement… IMHO...

Toyota Hi-CT Concept Car
The Toyota Hi-CT is a city car concept which had been revealed at the previous 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. In Toyota’s words the Hi-CT concept is designed to deliver a new “coolness” inspired by “the thinking and lifestyles of youth”. For a small car the styling of the Toyota Hi-CT is chunky and bold. The high sides and short windows exaggerate the truck-like design. At the rear of the Toyota Hi-CT concept there is a removable trunk and a deck where surfboards, bicycles and other equipment can be stowed. Powered by a hybrid drivetrain, the funky Toyota Hi-CT uses a 1.5 liter engine and an electric motor. The under-floor mounted battery can be recharged from the mains. The location of the battery has the effect of raising the drivers position giving better visibility, while also lowering the vehicles center of gravity. The Hi-CT is also fitted with an 100V socket which allows power from the battery to be used for any electrical device....
